Dali's "Face of War" piqued my interest because of its haunting and terrifying subject matter. Dali's techniques for this art piece is a perfect analogy for the figurative and literal destruction that war brings. The terrified expression conveys how disturbing and traumatic war can be to the human psyche. The skulls embedded in his eyes and mouth share the same horror he experiences, this time because death is inevitable and is closer to reaching you in a violent environment. This painting is compelling, and I admire its boldness.
