The painting I selected was Portrait of Chess Players by Marcel Duchamp. I selected this painting because at first it was hard to see the people within the painting, however once my eye recognized them it was very interesting how the artist made out the people. The edges and details he uses to construct the painting is outstanding. I also like that this piece of art is connected to his life, he really enjoyed playing chess and eventually gave up painting for period of time in order to play chess. I also like how the person facing the viewer seems to be thinking about his next move on the board
